SURFACE & XBOX
Proof of Concept website to change Microsoft Store and Marketing teams moving forward

Problems & Goals
Microsoft has multiple web sites for the same product. For example, Surface and Xbox have Marketing and Store sites with basically the same content (one is more story-driven and the other is more “buy focused”). There was an initiative to combine site content to make a more seamless experience for the customer with Surface and Xbox serving as proofs of concept.
Solution & Impact
The Store Team asked me to help lead this project even thought I wasn’t on the team. I helped lead a group of designers and editors and I was in charge of content for pages and designs. I challenged the model they had and advocated for an improved UX I created. We moved forward with my model. The Surface prototype was A/B test and it had 21% lift of Surface orders over the control (existing Store pages). The learnings where incorporated into all sites for “One” Microsoft moving forward.
Team & Responsibilities
We had 2 weeks to go from “zero” to final design for the entire new site. We had five designers assigned to the project. Once I solidified the content strategy and wireframes for the pages, I assigned pages to each designer, and we divided and conquered.
My responsibilities included art direction, navigation design, content strategy, wire-frame creation for each page, page design (for the “Feature” pages), and CSS animations.
